1970S Tissot Seastar - REF: 40522
🍸 [Now Offered]:
A nautical beauty ⚓️
A patina lovers delight
A Tissot Seastar REF: 40522 with Valjoux 7733
One of my favorite bits of collecting and dealing in vintage is what draws a lot of us in: the beauty of visible aging
This Tissot Seastar from the 1970s - an era I keep finding myself coming back to - has that in spades
Look. At. That. Dial.
The originally blue dial has faded form it’s original blue to a deep purple, patinated gem 💎
The bezel matches the dial in form and has aged to a matte grey - matching well with the fitted strap. Despite the patina, it retains its original legibility
The red and blue from the hands and right sub-dial add a pop of color to the mix
And the warm, stick indices remain in tact
Could go on and on about the dial elements, but then you get to the beautiful, Tonneau-shaped case? Come on, now. So good 🍸
And inside that case, it gets EVEN better:
The watch case houses a caliber that needs no introduction: the Valjoux 7733. A staple in chronograph history
Running great
Please, Tissot: return the Seastar to true form ❤️
Case Size: 40mm
Lug Width: 20mm
Lug-to-Lug: ~43mm
Between style, size, history, movement quality, and character: this ticks all the boxes.
Note: case back/sides seem slightly polished
